Aims:

This module looks at your development within your health and social care role. You will reflect on the aims and values of your organisation and how your role fits within and contributes to the wider team / organisation. You will examine the importance of working to set standards, regulations and codes of conduct and what to do should you need to report or raise a concern.

You will explore how appraisals and personal development plans can be used to set clear objectives related to your role and examine how informal professional development can also be useful in progressing your career.

Outcomes:

• Describe your role, responsibilities and any limits associated
• Define any codes of conduct related to your role and the regulations set out by these
• Understand the importance of building professional relationships and how to work effectively as part of a team
• Explain the importance of professional development and how this can be achieved, for example through appraisals
• Understand why it is important to raise concerns and describe how to raise a concern within your organisation
