Prevent strategy
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of our apprentices and learners and providing a caring and safe environment where all can participate in learning in a relaxed and secure way. We will ensure all programmes of learning promote democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs. We will encourage all learners to respect other people with particular regard to the protected characteristics set out in the Equality Act 2010.
Our legal responsibilities under the Prevent Duty
- Encouraging apprentices, learners and colleagues to share their views and recognise they are entitled to have different beliefs but these must not be used to influence others
- Promoting British Values appropriately in all training materials
- Reporting concerns immediately to the designated safeguarding lead or the police if a person is at risk, allegations are made against colleagues or a crime has been committed
- Building confidence, self-esteem and respect for others will reduce the risk of those most vulnerable to radicalisation
- Briefing all apprentices during induction about using the internet and social media safely and how to report any concerns or upsetting content. HCRG Care Group has an Acceptable Use policy
