Lead Adult Care Worker
Introduction
The Lead Adult Care Worker apprenticeship is ideally suited for experienced individuals who help adults with care and support needs to achieve their personal goals and live as independently and safely as possible, enabling them to have control and choice in their lives by assisting them with daily activities such as eating, dressing, washing, and monitoring overall comfort and wellbeing.
In addition, Lead Adult Care Workers have responsibility for providing supervision, frontline leadership, guidance, and direction for others, or working autonomously, exercising judgement and accountability. You may work in a range of services e.g., hospital, nursing or care home, domiciliary care, day centres, and will be working in partnership with individuals, families, carers and other service providers.
Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care

Assessed virtually
This qualification consists of 10 mandatory units covering knowledge and skills competencies, with optional specialisms which can be combined in flexible ways to reflect the real working context of different learners.
The mandatory units include (but are not limited to:
- Person centred approaches
- Communication
- Safeguarding
- Mental health and wellbeing
- Handling information
- Duty of care
As well as the on-programme assessment there will be an End Point Assessment which will be carried out by an external independent assessor. This will include:
- Multiple choice and short answer test
- Observation of practice
- A learning journal

Leader in Adult Care Level 5
