Aims:

Explore what is meant by ‘safeguarding adults,’ and who may be at risk of abuse. Examine the potential indicators of abuse and how you can take action if you have concerns.

Outcomes:

• Define the term “Safeguarding Adults.”
• Explore who an “adult at risk” may be.
• Recognise potential indicators of abuse, harm and neglect.
• Examine what action to take if you have concerns, including whom you should report your concerns to and from whom you should seek advice.
• Examine what the Prevent Strategy means and how this relates to safeguarding.
• Describe the relevant legislation which underpins safeguarding adults.
