Aim:

The course aim is to refresh knowledge of nurses, health care assistants, pharmacists and other healthcare staff to vaccinate patients safely in the coming ‘flu season as well as other known vaccine preventable diseases. In line with PHE National Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Immunisation training.

Objectives

• Update and refresh on current issues and controversies regarding immunisation 
• Summarise effective communication with patients and parents   
• Recap and update the legal aspects of vaccination 
• Describe accountability, supervision, and delegation 
• Recap documentation record keeping and reporting 
• Describe and recap contraindications and adverse events 
• Update knowledge around strategies to improve immunisation rates 

Please Note:

This is a refresher all delegates must have completed a 2-day Foundation to Immunisations and Vaccination administration.

Please ensure you are up to date with your a BLS//Anaphylaxis training before administering vaccinations.
