Aims:

To raise awareness of the duties of employees and the legislation, what to do in the event of fire, emergency contact, raising the alarm, evacuation principles, fire extinguisher awareness, arson, community staff safety from fire and use of cars. Finally a section is also given on home fire safety.

 Outcomes:

This session will cover the following:

• Have an overview of the management of fire safety.
• Define the nature and causes of fire.
• Identify fire safety legislation.
• Describe staff evacuation principles.
• Identify the location of extinguishers and escape routes.
• Describe passive and active fire precautions.
