Deteriorating Patient

Aim:

The aim of the course is to inform health care workers how to recognise a deteriorating patient and provide safe, timely and appropriate management or treatment whilst keeping themselves safe.

Outcomes:

Discuss the A-E approach for a deteriorating patient by utilising the NEWS2 scoring system
Describe how to recognise sepsis.
Explain the importance of good communication skills, SBAR, ReSPECT and DNACPRs
Summarise your local/national policies and procedures and professional responsibilities
